Lab Technician

Position Overview #
We are seeking a skilled Biotech Laboratory Technician to join our research team. The ideal candidate will contribute to our ongoing research projects while maintaining the highest standards of laboratory practices.
The successful candidate will work a minimum of 20 hours per week, supporting our research staff in conducting experiments, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring accurate documentation of all procedures.
For the right candidate, we will hire full time. The right candidate = someone with a background in working with stem cells &/or electrophysiology.
Required Qualifications #
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or related life sciences field preferred but not required.
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on laboratory experience
- Demonstrated expertise in pipetting techniques and sample handling
- Proficiency with Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN) systems
- Strong understanding of laboratory safety protocols and QHSE management systems
Core Responsibilities #
- Prepare and process biological samples according to established protocols
- Maintain detailed records of experiments and results in the laboratory’s ELN system
- Perform various assays with literature-defined protocols and analytical procedures using various laboratory equipment
- Clean and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration
- Monitor and maintain laboratory inventory
- Collaborate with research team members to support ongoing projects
Required Skills #
- Expert-level pipetting skills with demonstrated accuracy and precision
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Proficiency with laboratory database systems
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Schedule #
This position requires a minimum of 20 hours per week, with flexibility in scheduling. May include occasional weekend work as needed for time-sensitive experiments. A candidate with background in more core experimental procedures may have the opportunity for full time employment.

- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Manual dexterity for precise laboratory work
- Capacity to lift and move laboratory equipment up to 20 pounds
